Bhante Gunaratana explains Meditation.



Meditation is something you learn to do by yourself. This is a lonely path…You go to walk yourself…Meditation is a very serious, personal, 100 percent personal commitment...In the best sense of the word, meditation is a completely 100 percent personal lonely practice.

Puppha Pūjā (Flower Offering)

Vaṇṇa-gandha-guṇopetaṃ, etaṃ kusuma-santatiṃ
This cluster of flowers, endowed with color and fragrance.

Pūjayāmi munindassa, sirīpāda-saroruhe.
I offer at the sacred lotus-feet, of the Lord of sages.

Pūjemi buddhaṃ, kusumenanena
I worship the Buddha, with varied flowers,

puññena-m-etena ca hotu mokkhaṃ.
And by this merit, may there be Release.

Pupphaṃ milāyāti yathā idaṃ me kāyo tathā yāti vināsa-bhāvaṃ.
Just as this flower fades away, likewise my body too will go to the state of destruction.

法師提到這首謁十分有意思,它道出了無常的佛理。即使是最美麗的花朵,從被採摘開始就逐漸凋謝。如果我們非常專注地觀察,就能領悟這道理。人也似花朵一樣,會不斷的衰壞。

姿勢

盤坐禪修時,當坐上一段時間,腿部可能出現麻痹或酸痛。到底這時候應該轉換姿勢還是繼續,直到整個禪修完結?有些導師認為應繼續,亦有說可轉換姿勢。星期日禪修結束後,特意向法師請教。法師說腿感到不舒服是正常的,可慢慢地轉換左右腳。姿勢在禪修時並不是重要的事情,重要的是心境。
